Reported Bridgewater Explosion Was Normal Quarry Blasting: Police
Students at the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School had been outside for gym class when the reported "explosion" was heard.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A reported explosion in Bridgewater was found to be from normal blasting operations at Stavola's Quarry, police said Friday morning.
Bridgewater Police sent out an alert saying, "There is no threat to the public near Foothill Road."
Students at the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School had been outside for gym class when the reported "explosion" was heard. The students were then taken back into the school, Bridgewater Police Lt. John Mitzak said.

"Students at the Middle School are safe and resuming their normal schedule," police said. "There is no threat to the public."
