Run/Walk To Benefit Somerset Regional Animal Shelter

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Come out for a run or a walk on Oct. 9 and help out your local animals in need at the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter.

The Friends of the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter are hosting the "Heart and Sole 5K Run/Walk" sponsored by Valkyrie Electric Motors to benefit the shelter.

There will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start for the shelter's first ever sanctioned 5K run. Walkers will begin at 10 a.m., dogs are welcome to walk and will receive goody bags.

There will be vendors, a food truck, a local celebrity mascot, and a Try It Agility course.

The race will be held at Duke Island Park, Apple Grove Picnic Area, 189 Old York Rd in Bridgewater.

Cost:

• Runners: Pre-registered $30, $35 day of race
• Walkers: Pre-registered $25, $30 day of race
• Dogs: $5 each (Or rent an Invisible Dog to walk at the event!)
• Children under 12 free when walking with an adult

Participant with the highest amount of pledge funds wins a $250 gift card; 2nd place will receive a $100 gift card.
