See How Basking Ridge Voted In Township Committee Race

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Republican Janice Fields won in a close race on Tuesday defeating Democrat Dr. Sophia Chadda and Independent Todd Edelstein for Township Committee of in Bernards Township, according to unofficial results. The final count on Mail in Ballots will be provided by the County Clerk Office on Nov. 12.

Overall Basking Ridge favored Fields with 3,731 total votes over Chadda with 3,143 votes and Edelstein with 250 votes.

All but six districts out of the 24 total in Bernards Township favored Fields. Districts 2, 15, 21, 22, and 24 all voted in favor of Chadda. District 23 was a tie for both Fields and Chadda.

The school board also had a contested race with five candidates vying for the three open three-year seats. It appears school Board Candidates Incumbent Karen Gray, Incumbent Suzanne Schafer Skalski, and Lauren Beckman edged out Stephanus "Iwan" Juwana and Ruchika S. Hira. (See the results here)
