Bernards Committee: Fields Takes The Win, Unofficial Results Say

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Republican Janice Fields appears to have beaten Democrat Dr. Sophia Chadda and Independent Todd Edelstein for the one contested Bernards Township Committee seat, according to unofficial results reported by Somerset County. The final count on Mail in Ballots will be provided by the County Clerk Office on Nov. 12.

"We respect the electoral process and we will be patiently waiting for the final vote count as issued by the Somerset County Board of Elections. I would like to take this time to thank my fellow Bernards Township residents for their voting support," Fields said.

Future development of the Millington Quarry, affordable housing and transparency to the public have been issues the township has been dealing with recently.

The school board also had a contested race with five candidates vying for the three open three-year seats. It appears school Board Candidates Incumbent Karen Gray, Incumbent Suzanne Schafer Skalski, and Lauren Beckman edged out Stephanus "Iwan" Juwana and Ruchika S. Hira.
