Shoplifters Target Bridgewater Businesses: Police Blotter
Bridgewater Police reported 6 incidents of shoplifting with 2 arrests in December.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater businesses were the target of shoplifters in December with six incidents reported, according to the police blotter.
Police also reported a stolen van and a DWI crash.

On Dec. 10 at 1:11 p.m.: Two men entered Nordstrom Rack at 362 Chimney Rock Road and shoplifted 17 pairs of designer sunglasses valued at $1,397.31. The men were confronted by store security and fled the store without paying for the sunglasses. Store security followed the subjects outside where the subjects dropped the sunglasses and fled in a vehicle. The sunglasses were recovered.
On Dec. 10 at 7:31 p.m.: Three men entered Macy’s at the Bridgewater Commons Mall. Each of them selected cosmetic gift sets with a total value of $3,536. They hid them in laundry-style bags and fled out of the store into an awaiting vehicle and fled the area.

On Dec. 11 at 8 a.m.: The same three men that shoplifted from Macy’s on Dec. 10 entered Macy’s at the Bridgewater Commons Mall. Each of them selected cosmetic gift sets with a total value of $1,419. They concealed them in laundry-style bags and fled out of the store into an awaiting vehicle and fled the area.
On Dec. 11 at 8:38 p.m.: A 27-year-old woman from Sussex, shoplifted 10 cosmetic items from Nordstrom Rack at 362 Chimney Rock Road. She hid the items in a sweatshirt and paid for some other items she had selected. She was confronted by store security and returned the stolen items. She was charged with shoplifting.
On Dec. 12 at 6:28 p.m.: Two women walked into Ulta Beauty at 352 Chimney Rock Road and shoplifted $607 worth of perfume and fragrances and immediately left the store without paying for the items.
On Dec. 16 at 12:21 p.m.: A white Ford Econoline Van was taken from the Home Depot parking lot at 400 Promenade Blvd. The vehicle was locked and the operator of the vehicle was in possession of the keys.
On Dec. 24 at 2:08 p.m.: An 18-year-old man from Plainfield was arrested and charged with shoplifting after he went to Macy’s, located in the Bridgewater Commons Mall and shoplift clothing items valued at $173.49.
On Dec. 26 at 8:28 p.m.: Sidney Wright, 24, from Princeton, was arrested for DWI after being involved in a motor vehicle crash. He was also issued summonses for careless driving and failure to maintain his lane.
