Shoplifting, DWI Arrests Reported In Bridgewater
Bridgewater Police reported multiple incidents of shoplifting at township stores within the past month.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater Police reported multiple incidents of shoplifting at township stores within the past month.
Bridgewater Police Blotter:
On Nov. 6 at 3 p.m.: Two people tried to shoplift several power tools that were secure in
storage bin at the Home Depot at 400 Promenade Blvd. A heavy-set black man removed bolt cutters out of his pocket and cut the locks to storage bin and removed the power tools and placed them in a shopping cart. The man then gave the shopping cart to a black woman. They both walked to garden center and the man began talking with a cashier while the woman walked out of the store with the merchandise. Once outside of the store personnel from Home Depot Loss Prevention confronted them. The suspects left the shopping cart full of the stolen items and fled on foot to a BMW SUV.

On Nov. 7 at 1:15 p.m.: A 22-year-old woman from Fanwood was arrested for shoplifting from Macy’s Department store at the Bridgewater Commons Mall.
On Nov. 11 at 9:01 p.m.: Two men and two women, no further description, walked
into Nordstrom Rack at 362 Chimney Rock Road and quickly began to select three designer
sweaters, one blazer, one jacket, four pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses and a Nike backpack. One of the men took all of the items and placed the sunglasses in the back pack and then walked out of the store without paying for any of the items.

On Nov.12 at 11:55 a.m.: One man and one woman entered Nordstrom Rack and
shoplifted several pieces of jewelry. When they were approached by security they fled the store
without paying for the items.
On Nov. 20 at 2:10 a.m.: A passerby notified Somerset County Communications of a possible
intoxicated driver. The driver of the vehicle in question was driving without any of the vehicle’s
headlights on, was swerving, and hit the median on Route 22 West. Officers from the Green
Brook Police Department found the vehicle and then notified the Bridgewater Police
Department. Officers from the Bridgewater Police spoke with the driver of the vehicle, Romero
Jackson, 50, from Cartersville, GA. Jackson was arrested and charged with DWI, and
careless driving.
