Silver Girl Scout Award Helping Homeless NJ Kids
Bridgewater-Raritan High School Student Helps Homeless NJ Kids

Visions & Pathways would like to recognize Marisol Mattia for her leadership and contributions. As a freshman at Bridgewater-Raritan High School and a Girl Scout for 9 years, she decided to create a Silver Award project that would benefit the clients and residents of Visions & Pathways. This organization provides safe housing, food, and support services including in-program education and life-skills training to at-risk and homeless NJ youth 13 and older. This includes providing low income housing for youth who age out of foster care and also out-reach programs across New Jersey.
For several months, Marisol created a plan to renovate one of the residence's living rooms including fundraising, purchasing the needed items and then renovating the room herself. Although Marisol has just completed her Silver Award, she is beginning to think about her Gold Star Award. Congratulation to Marisol, her mentors, and the volunteers that helped her help NJ kids. As per Executive Director David Walker, "Marisol's dedication, especially as a younger member of our local community, is wonderful to see."
