Somerset Man Charged With Attempted Murder: Police
Justice Philip, 23, is accused of crashing into another man's car and shooting a gun at him, according to Somerville police.

SOMERVILLE, NJ — A Somerset man was charged with attempted murder this week after police said he purposely crashed into another man's car before shooting at him.
Justice P. Philip, 23, was charged with first-degree attempted murder and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose after turning himself in to authorities on Monday, according to Somerset police.
According to police, officers were called to an area near North Gaston Avenue and East High Street shortly before 3:10 a.m. Saturday for reports of loud noises and speeding vehicles.

When officers arrived, they spoke with a man who said he and Philip got into an argument. During the fight, Philip crashed into the other man's vehicle and shot a gun at him, police said.
The man was not injured, according to authorities.

Detectives from the Somerville Police Department and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the incident. Philip is currently being held at Somerset County Jail pending a bail hearing, police said.
