Somerville St. Patrick's Day Parade 2019: What You Need To Know

The parade will be held on Sunday, March 10 at 1:30 p.m. in Somerville.

SOMERVILLE, NJ — Somerville's Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade gathers locals from all over the area each year. Here is some information you need to know before you go to the 2019 celebration.

The parade will be held on Sunday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m. and will run on West Main Street from Grove Street to Mountain Avenue.

This is the 27th year the parade will be held. The first St. Patrick's Day Parade on record in Somerville was held in 1984 and it began at Duke Island Park and traveled to downtown Somerville.

James (Jazzer) Walsh is the 2019 Grand Marshall for the parade. He was born and raised in Mahanoy Plane, Pennsylvania. He is the son of James and Sarah (Devitt) Walsh. His paternal grandfather came from Lawerencetown, County Galway, Ireland.

Marchers in the parade include fire departments, Girl Scout troops, Boy Scout troops, American Legions, rescue squads, political officials and more. For the full list of marchers click here.
