Stabbing In Somerset County, Raritan Man Charged With Aggravated Assault
Jose M. Cruz-Guzman reportedly stabbed another man in the hand following an argument in Raritan, said Somerset County Prosecutor.

RARITAN, NJ — A Raritan man who stabbed another man during an argument on April 1 was arrested, said Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
Jose M. Cruz-Guzman, 31, of Somerset Street, Raritan, was charged with third-degree aggravated assault, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fouth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
On April 1 at around 3:57 a.m., a 911 call reported an adult male victim with a stab wound to his hand.

Raritan Police Officers found the victim, a Raritan Borough resident, who said he had been stabbed by Cruz-Guzman during a verbal altercation, said McDonald.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries and later released.

An investigation by detectives from the Raritan Borough Police Department, the New Jersey State Police - Somerville Barracks and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit resulted in the arrest of Cruz-Guzman.
Cruz-Guzman was arrested in Raritan Borough and taken into custody without incident. He has been lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
