Strong Storms, Hail Possible Across Somerset County Tuesday Evening: NWS
A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued by the National Weather Service. Strong storms, localized flooding and even hail is possible.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Some thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening could produce locally damaging winds and even large hail, the National Weather Service warns in a Hazardous Weather Outlook.
"There is at least some potential for heavy rainfall tonight. Localized flooding is possible, particularly in urban and poor-drainage areas," the Hazardous Weather Outlook says.
The stormy conditions are expected to linger into Wednesday, when there is at least "some potential" for heavy rainfall and localized flooding is also possible then, too, according to the forecast.

According to the Weather Channel, isolated thunderstorms could start as early as 7 p.m. in the Somerset County area. Storms are expected to continue off and on overnight and into the morning.

This Afternoon: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. Southwest wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 7 p.m. and 2 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 a.m. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Cloudy, with a low around 67. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Wednesday: Occasional showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 70. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100 percemt. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Wednesday Night: Showers. Low around 57. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 74. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 8 mph in the morning.
