BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Signs in support of the Bridgewater police have been going missing in the middle of the night, township residents are saying.

"We can't thank you all enough for showing your support of the Department by displaying the yard signs all around town! With that said, we have been receiving several calls from residents advising that unknown subject(s) have been going around town removing these signs, mainly during the night," the department said Thursday night.

Other police supportive items have also been stolen in the township. The "Support the Bridgewater Police" signs have reportedly been removed on Washington Valley Road, American flags were removed from Chelsea Way and "thin blue Line" flags were removed on Charles Street, according to police Capt. John Mitzak.
