Truck Driver Crashes Into Building While Trying To Park In Raritan: Police

After the crash, authorities checked the structural integrity of the building located on Route 202.

RARITAN, NJ — A pickup truck driver crashed into a building off Route 202 in Raritan while trying to park, said police.

Just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, a 78-year-old Bridgewater man mistakenly pushed his gas pedal instead of the brake pedal while parking his pickup truck, said Raritan Police Sergeant Everett Holt.

This caused the truck to crash into the building at 1124 Route 202 in Raritan, said Holt.

No injuries were reported to the driver or building occupants, said Raritan Borough Fire Department.

An inspection by the borough's building department determined the structural integrity of the building was not compromised.
