Van Crashes Into Pole Causing Road Closure, Power Loss In Branchburg

The single-vehicle crash on County Line Road was reported on Monday.

BRANCHBURG, NJ — A van crashed into a utility pole on Monday causing County Line Road to close and temporary power loss to residents in the area, said Branchburg Police.

At 3:49 p.m., Branchburg Police was called to the area of County Line Road and Gates Road for the report of a motor vehicle crash involving a commercial van that had crashed into a utility pole.

It was determined that it was a single-car crash, and the driver reported that he had experienced minor injuries as a result of the impact, said Branchburg Police Captain Edward Edgar.

The driver was assessed by EMS, and taken to Somerset Robert Wood Johnson as a result of his reported injuries.

Initial on-scene investigation determined that the vehicle was traveling north on County Line Road when the driver lost control and crashed into the pole, said Edgar.

The crash report is still in progress at this time.

Due to the location of the crash, County Line Road had to be closed from Gates Road through Arapaho Trail until around 2:30 a.m. so that the utility pole could be resurrected.

Residents in the area experienced temporary power loss from the crash into the utility pole.
