Witnesses Sought In Branchburg Car Theft

BRANCHBURG, NJ — Authorities are looking for witnesses to a car theft that happened in broad daylight outside QuickChek in Branchburg.

On July 25 at about 1:13 p.m., the driver parked their vehicle and left it unlocked and running while they went inside the QuickChek located at 1296 Route 28 in Branchburg, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said.

After being inside the convenience store for a short period time, the driver came outside and saw the vehicle was stolen, Robertson said.

There were numerous customers at the time of the theft and Branchburg Police are looking for anyone who may have information or witnessed it.

Anyone with information relating to this theft is asked to contact the Branchburg Police Department at 908-526-3830 or via the STOPit app. The STOPit app allows citizens to provide anonymous reports including videos and photos.
