Cops Identify Woman Fatally Stabbed Outside Somerville Townhomes

The stabbing suspect remains at large as of Friday and investigators are calling on the public for help.

SOMERVILLE, NJ — A young Somerville woman who was fatally stabbed multiple times outside of a Somerville townhome has been identified on Friday, said authorities.

MaryRose Fealey, 27, of North Bridge Street in Somerville was identified as the homicide victim, said Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Francisco Roman Jr., and Somerville Chief of Police Dennis Manning on Friday.

As of Friday, the stabbing suspect remains at large.

"Despite some fictitious social media postings in the public, no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing to identify the actor(s) involved along with motive," said McDonals.

The public is being asked to help notify investigators if they saw any suspicious activity or anyone in and around the area of North Bridge Street and East Cliff Street between 8:30 and 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

All calls are confidential, and tipsters can remain anonymous. Historically, tips have yielded positive results with favorable outcomes. All tips as they relate to this investigation are welcomed and strongly encouraged, said McDonald.

On Tuesday at around 10:20 p.m., a 911 call reported an injured unresponsive woman located outside of a residential complex on North Bridge Street. Read More: Woman Found Fatally Stabbed Outside Somerville Housing Complex: Police

Somerville Officers found Fealey with multiple apparent stab wounds and began life-saving measures at the scene along with responding medical personnel, said McDonald.

Fealey was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Somerville Police Department along with detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, and the Crime Scene Investigations Unit are investigating.

A postmortem examination was performed on Feb. 1, by the Medical Examiner’s Office who positively identified the victim and determined the cause of death as multiple stab wounds and ruled the manner of death as homicide.

"The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office and the Somerville Police Department have all available resources dedicated to this investigation and it is our top priority," said McDonald.
