Woman Walking In Middle Of Road Hit By Car In Bridgewater

At 3:10 a.m. Traci Carreker was walking in the left eastbound lane of East Main Street when she was hit by a car Thursday.

BRIDGEWATR, NJ — A woman who was walking in the middle of the road was hit by a car and hospitalized early Thursday morning in Bridgewater, police said.

At 3:10 a.m. Traci Carreker was walking in the left eastbound lane of East Main Street, in the area between Morton Street and Chimney Rock Road, when she was hit by a silver 2001 Volvo S60, driven by Michael DiMaria, Bridgewater Police Officer John Kennedy said.

Carreker was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. DiMaria was treated at the scene for a minor injury, Kennedy said.

DiMaria was not issued any summonses.

Carreker's age and hometown were not known at this time.

The crash is still under investigation by the Bridgewater Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Bureau.
