While the incident occurred across the river, the serious charges and high bail involve someone from Browns Mills, making this a case many local residents will want to follow as it moves through the courts. 
• Three Browns Mills Women Arrested In Four-Figure ShopRite Shoplifting Scheme (tapinto.net) — Three women who live on Cherokee Drive in Browns Mills were arrested after police said they left a Manahawkin ShopRite with more than $1,000 in unpaid groceries. Stafford Township detectives stopped them outside the store, filed third-degree charges, and released them on summonses while reminding the public the defendants are presumed innocent.
