3 Accused Of Attempted Vehicle Burglaries In West Caldwell
Police in West Caldwell charged three people with burglary after they tried to break into parked vehicles near Ellis Road, authorities said.
WEST CALDWELL, NJ — Police in West Caldwell recently charged three people with burglary after they tried to break into parked vehicles near Ellis Road, authorities said Monday.
The West Caldwell Police Department released the following statement about the incident:
“Just before 1 a.m. on Saturday morning, Sgt. Redmerski observed two individuals attempting to break into parked motor vehicles on Ellis Road and surrounding streets. Upon observing the officer, the suspects jumped into an awaiting vehicle and fled the area. A motor vehicle stop was conducted on the suspect vehicle, a 2011 red Mitsubishi Eclipse, a short distance away. The three occupants, Trashawn White-Hines, 24, of Newark, and two juveniles were taken into custody and charged with burglary and criminal attempt.”
All three individuals were released from custody with return court dates, police said.
