Battle Lines Drawn For Caldwell Mayor, Council Races: 2026 Election

Republicans and Democrats are building up steam in Caldwell. Meanwhile, uncontested races are taking place in North and West Caldwell.

CALDWELL, NJ — The stage is set for a November showdown between Republicans and Democrats in Caldwell.

A mayor seat and two borough council seats are up for re-election in Caldwell this year.

Caldwell residents went to the polls in Tuesday’s primary election to vote for Republican and Democratic nominees. The winners will match up against any independent or third-party candidates in a general election on Nov. 3.

Each candidate ran unopposed in the primary, drawing official battle lines heading into November. See the latest vote totals here.

Republicans– Incumbent mayor Garrett Jones is running for the Republicans on a common slate along with Andrew Pollara and Brian Bambrick. Learn more about their campaign here.

Democrats– The challenger, Kenneth Jurgensen, is running for the Democrats on a slate along with Jonathan Sagalow and Ricardo Alcorta. Learn more about their campaign here.

NO CONTEST IN NORTH CALDWELL, WEST CALDWELL

North Caldwell and West Caldwell are also having municipal elections in November. Each candidate is currently running unopposed.

North Caldwell Mayor – Kenneth Tilton is running unopposed as a Republican. No Democrats filed to run in the primary.

North Caldwell Borough Council – Anthony Floria-Callori and Aimee Luers-Franco are running unopposed as Democrats. No Republicans filed to run in the primary.

West Caldwell Mayor – Joseph Tempesta Jr. is running unopposed as a Republican. No Democrats filed to run in the primary.

West Caldwell Township Council – Michael Docteroff and Kathy Canale are running unopposed as Republicans. No Democrats filed to run in the primary.
