Jonathan Sagalow

Jonathan and his wife, Stacey, are lifelong New Jersey residents who have made Caldwell their home. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati, specializing in infrastructure, community design, and sustainable development.

With a career in pre-construction management and cost estimation, Jonathan has worked on major infrastructure projects across New Jersey. After facing repeated flooding at his own Caldwell home, he is driven to upgrade the borough’s aging stormwater systems, complete long delayed domestic water upgrades and address Caldwell’s 100+ year old sewer system with practical, cost-effective solutions.

Ricardo Alcorta

Ricardo, a finance and accounting professional, holds a master’s degree in Accounting from Rider University. He and his wife, Nicole, are raising two children in Caldwell’s public schools, giving him a strong connection to the needs of local families.

Ricardo’s background in budgeting and financial planning emphasizes accountability, transparency, and the responsible use of taxpayer funds. He is committed to expanding family-friendly community events and strengthening Caldwell’s small-town spirit.

A Team Focused on Results

Jurgensen, Sagalow, and Alcorta are running to strengthen accountability, affordability, transparency, and practical leadership in Caldwell. They are committed to working collaboratively with all Council members and borough staff to deliver results that serve residents today and in the years ahead.

Their priorities include:

  • Advancing long-delayed capital projects such as improvements to the Community Center, Police Department, legal offices, and records retention facilities.
  • Installing a stormwater retention system under Provost Square parking lot to reduce the Pine Brook flooding.
  • Developing a comprehensive 10-year capital and asset management plan to maintain borough facilities, extend their useful life, and control long-term costs.
  • Developing guidelines for developers, contractors, building and home owners to preserve Caldwell's historic buildings and storefronts.

This work will be guided by clear timelines, public reporting, and responsible financial planning—with complete transparency around spending, contracts, and decisions.

The team also pledges to restore trust in local government by prioritizing residents over politics and personal friendships, fostering open communication, and promoting nonpartisan, inclusive governance that delivers measurable results for all.

Experienced Leadership.

Fiscal Responsibility.

A Strong Future for Caldwell.
