Caldwell Resident Named Business Woman of the Year

The Irish Business Association (IBA) has named Caldwell resident, , as its “Business Woman of the Year” for 2012. The IBA, which is an association of New Jersey business professionals and business owners committed to promoting business relationships and personal interaction within the Irish-American business community, presents the award annually to New Jersey residents in recognition of their efforts to support the IBA mission. The NJ Sharing Network Foundation is the philanthropic arm of NJ Sharing Network, the non-profit organization responsible for the recovery of organs and tissue for nearly 5,000 New Jerseyans awaiting life-saving transplants.

“New Jersey is home to some of our nation’s most dynamic business leaders, many of whom are women,” says Elisse Glennon. “I am truly honored to be recognized by the IBA for both my professional and personal commitments here in New Jersey.”

The IBA presented the award to Glennon at its 2012 Annual Awards Dinner on June 12 at the Westwood in Garwood.

“Each year the Irish Business Association recognizes a broad slice of the New Jersey business community with Irish roots,” said Al Nunan, the association’s president. “There are 1.3 million New Jersey residents claiming Irish descent and Irish-Americans are found in every corner of commerce and community. This year’s honorees reflect both the breadth of Irish in our state and the widening footprint of the Irish Business Association.”

Joining the NJ Sharing Network Foundation in 2010 as its Executive Director, Glennon brings with her more than 12 years of experience in non-profit management, strategic planning, fundraising, and marketing and community relations to her current position. Before joining the Foundation, Glennon was Vice President/Executive Director of the Palisades Medical Center Foundation where she was charged with establishing the first endowment for the community hospital. Prior to joining the Medical Center, she served as Chief Executive Officer of United Way of Greater Union County. Glennon began her career in the non-profit sector working with the Children’s Miracle Network at Children’s Specialized Hospital.

In addition to her position at the NJ Sharing Network Foundation,Glennon serves on the Boards of the Meadowlands Regional Chamber, The Center for Non-Profits, Community Health Charities of NJ and Moe-tion Dance Theatre. She is also actively involved with Leadership New Jersey, the Bucknell University Alumni Association and the Caldwell Downtown Alliance.   

Born and raised in Verona, Elisse now lives in Caldwell with her husband, Brian, and their children Kate, Brian Jr., Emily and Molly.
