West Essex High School Students Build Roller Coasters
Students build functional roller coasters out of paper, cardboard etc. and then demonstrate how it works using a marble.
Students in several physics classes are forming groups and creating roller coasters as part of their semester physics conservation and energy projects.
The students are learning that a roller coaster "is a complex machine that is a work of art as much as it is a physical structure."

Students in Taciana Barros' class were creative using a variety of materials, including candy, and building roller coasters with different themes, such as, "A Day at the Beach" and "Around the World."
