Caldwell Cops Rescue Driver From Serious Crash, Earn Commendation
"Their swift and coordinated actions directly contributed to saving the driver's life."

CALDWELL, NJ — Several Caldwell police officers recently earned a commendation for their swift actions during a serious car crash.
A social media post from the Caldwell Police Department last week provides more details about the incident:
“Caldwell police responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Cleveland Street. Officer Nicholas D’Amico, Officer Daniel Rafferty, Officer Conor Cunningham, Sergeant Natalie Marinaro, and Lieutenant Andrew Apicella arrived and found one driver unconscious inside a vehicle that had sustained significant damage. Officers quickly assessed the scene, utilized a window punch to gain access to the vehicle, and safely extricated the unconscious driver. Recognizing the medical emergency, officers immediately initiated CPR and deployed an automated external defibrillator, which delivered two shocks prior to the arrival of emergency medical services. Their swift and coordinated actions directly contributed to saving the driver’s life.”
