Caldwell Jitney is free to Bay Street Train Station for the month of October

The Caldwell Jitney is now running to Montclair's Bay Street Station in the am and pm for commuters who work in New York, Newark and Bayonne

Those commuters who would like to try out the new Caldwell Jitney can do so with free parking at the Smull Avenue Municipal Lot Monday through Friday (there is even a bike rack for hardy cyclists donated by the town) during the month of October. In addition, ride FREE to Bay Street Train Station leaving at 6:30 a.m. and 7:10 a.m for October. These departures accommodate the 7:02 and 7:33 trains from Bay Street.
Pick ups at Bay Street Station in the evenings Monday through Friday are at 6:10 and 7:05. More times will be added as popularity grows.
After October, the cost to park at Smull Avenue Avenue Municipal lot is a special commuter rate of $45 a quarter year by permit from the Caldwell Police Department at Provost Square. The cost of the jitney after October is $3.50 each way payable in cash. We are working on monthly ticket books which will be available after October. The ride takes approximately 20 minutes to Bay Street Station, Montclair, with no stops.
If you are a commuter to New York mid-town, Newark or Hoboken, please consider trying the jitney in the month of October and see if it is works for you. We need committed riders in order to keep the jitney in the Caldwells.
