Caldwell Traffic: Construction, Water Main Project To Affect Bloomfield Avenue

"Certain areas of Bloomfield Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic during construction," Caldwell police stated.

CALDWELL, NJ — Construction and water main replacement has begun in Caldwell on Bloomfield Avenue and Hanford Place, police reported Monday. According to the Caldwell Police Department, the construction and water main replacement project will continue until about Thursday, May 18.

Except for emergencies, all work on Bloomfield Avenue and Hanford Place will be performed between 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday. Depending upon conditions, some work may be required on Saturdays, police said.

“Certain areas of Bloomfield Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic during the construction,” police stated. “Detours will be in place. For Hanford Place residents, your street will become a two-way street for access to your homes and the municipal lot. Some meter parking on Bloomfield Avenue and all parking on Hanford Place will be affected by the construction.”

Police stated that overnight parking will be allowed on all side streets surrounding Hanford Place, including Park Avenue, Whitfield Street, Cleveland Street and Kaplan Lot.

Residents will have “uninterrupted weekend access” to their homes and driveways, police said.
