Caldwell University’s New Class Hails From 14 Different Countries
67 percent of the class of 2023 at Caldwell University identify as students of color, administrators said.

CALDWELL, NJ — Caldwell University welcomed more than 500 incoming students for a new semester earlier this week after receiving a “record-breaking number of applications,” school administrators said.
On Monday, the college hosted a new student convocation for the class of 2023, which includes 450 freshmen from 13 states and 14 countries.
The group is diverse, with 67 percent of the incoming freshmen identifying as students of color, administrators said.

Pointing out that one of the pillars of the school is “service,” President Nancy Blattner urged each student to participate in one service activity during their university careers.
“I hope you do more,” Blattner said, pointing out that the university offers a range of opportunities for volunteerism locally and internationally.

Orges Rrapaj, president of the Student Government Association, led the new students in a pledge affirming their support and commitment to the Catholic Dominican education of Caldwell University.
“Today you are accepting an incredible opportunity to begin this new chapter at Caldwell University,” he said. “Make this journey everything you want it to be… be willing to move out of your comfort zone and take whatever Caldwell has to offer.”
