Caldwell West Caldwell Education Foundation's 3rd Annual 5K Set for May 20

Details about an upcoming 5K at James Caldwell High School to benefit the Caldwell West Caldwell Education Foundation

With spring finally blooming in Grover Cleveland Park, plans are heating up for the 3rd annual Caldwell West Caldwell Education Foundation (CWCEF) 5K fundraiser which will route runners through the historic park on Saturday, May 20.

Over the past two years, the CWCEF 5K has attracted over 600 runners and walkers for its family and community centered event. The 5K begins at 9:00 am at James Caldwell High School (JCHS), where participants in the NJ Track and Field Organization sanctioned run will be entertained by a DJ, offered light refreshments, and have the opportunity to browse sponsor tables both before and after the race.

The race, a certified 500 Grand Prix Event, will take runners up Westville Avenue and into Grover Cleveland Park where after taking a loop around the pond runners will return to JCHS. Prizes will be awarded to the top runners, with recognition given to runners placing in the top of their age groups.

In addition to attracting professional and serious runners, other participants in the CWCEF included teachers and principals in the district, as well as entire families. “The Education Foundation’s 5K is truly a win-win event. It brings the entire community together for a fun, healthy activity while raising valuable funds for the Education Foundation”, commented CWCEF Foundation Chairperson Mary Ann Campion.

100 percent of profits generated from the CWCEF 5K target programs benefitting all children in the Caldwell West Caldwell school district. The not for profit Foundation has helped to fund educational programs and purchase equipment for classroom use that would not necessarily be available within the district’s budget.
