Caldwells Traffic Alert: Central Avenue Roadwork Starts April 10
Prepare for the milling and paving of Central Avenue in the Caldwells.

CALDWELL, NJ — Prepare for the milling and paving of Central Avenue in the Caldwells. According to county officials, the project will begin on Monday, April 10 and continue until Sunday, April 30, weather permitting.
Central Avenue from Bloomfield Avenue to West Greenbrook Road will be milled and paved during the day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. as part of the Essex County 2016 Roadway Resurfacing Program, according to a notice from the Essex County Department of Public Works.

“While milling and paving is taking place, sections of Central Avenue will be intermittently closed to non-emergency traffic. During these operations, access to and from your driveway or street may be prohibited. If you need to enter/leave your home/business during this time (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.), please make arrangements to park your vehicle at another location.”
Officials added:
“Please follow all detour signs. Parking on Central Avenue during construction will not be permitted. New traffic patterns and signs will be posted.”
