Car Hits Pedestrian In West Caldwell, Woman Hospitalized

A car struck a pedestrian on Bloomfield Avenue in West Caldwell, sending a woman to the hospital, police say.

WEST CALDWELL, NJ — A car struck a pedestrian on Bloomfield Avenue in West Caldwell on Thursday night, sending a woman to the hospital, police say.

According to the West Caldwell Police Department, a car traveling westbound on Bloomfield Avenue struck a pedestrian crossing the street near the intersection of Kirkpatrick Lane around 7:50 p.m. Emergency responders transported the injured woman to St. Joseph Medical Center in Paterson.

The driver remained at the scene and wasn’t injured, police said.

West Caldwell police closed Bloomfield Avenue westbound between Passaic Avenue and Kirkpatrick Lane during the incident. No additional information about the crash was immediately available.
