The maker movement crossed over generations when HackNCraftNJ members paid a visit to Trinity Academy in Caldwell.

“Making” things is something that can be passed down through generations.

“Trinity Academy’s 8th grade is currently learning to code for 3D printers using TinkerCAD,” Fiore said, explaining how the tech would be integrated into the classroom. “The class will be creating and printing their own designs to display at our first-ever Innovation Day on February 6, 2016.”
“It was a very rewarding day,” HackNCraftNJ co-founder Frank Gibbons said. “It was great to see their eyes light up when you show them what is possible. You are never too young to start.”
Innovation Day
As part of Trinity Academy’s 25th Anniversary special event calendar and in partnership with HackNCraftNJ, Trinity Academy will host their STEM-inspired community event “Innovation Day” on February 6, 2016.
“We will be hosting demonstrations by HackNCraftNJ as well as exhibits by other local makers and organizations together with our own student work,” explained Fiore.
The cost is free to the general public, but donations will be accepted.
Trinity Academy is extending an invitation to those involved in the maker community who would like be a part of Innovation Day demonstrations. Interested participants can contact Kristi Castano at kcastano@trinityhsa.com, or Kim Fiore at kfiore@trinityk8.com.
