WATCH: Fire At Essex County Auto Lot Torches 20 Cars

The fire took place at a Fairfield auto auction lot on Route 46 during the early morning hours.

A blaze at an Essex County auto auction car lot torched 20 vehicles on Thursday morning.

The fire was first reported around 5:30 a.m. at Skyline Auto Auction on Route 46, authorities stated.

Fairfield Police Deputy Chief Anthony Manna stated that most of the burned cars were returned leases that were about to go up for auction, NJ.com reported.

The lot was closed at the time of the blaze and no injuries were reported, CBS New York stated.

The incident is currently under investigation, authorities said.
