First Presbyterian Choir Presents "Cabaret" Show

From the lively dance in the gym in "West Side Story" to the Beatles hit "Revolution" the Westminster High School choir from First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell performed an eclectic mix of show tunes and dancing at its cabaret show Sunday.

The students had rehearsed for months various pieces that ranged from songs from "Oklahoma" and "Hair" to a monologue from "The Heidi Chronicles." The performers are from area high schools and sing under the direction of Rev. Barbara Piercy and her husband, Noel Piercy. This year's show was choreographed by Adriana Piercy, who is a professional ballerina.

Students from the choir traditionally perform a musical for the public in the spring. This year, the students will put on "Urinetown" for the first time. In addition, the choir performers go on a show tour.

Money raised from the three cabaret shows on Sunday will offset some of the costs for the choir tour and assist students who may need scholarships to participate.
