Caldwell High's Kinney Commits to Play Football in College
Receiver to play for Susquehanna University.
One more senior from James Caldwell High School, West Caldwell, has signed a letter of intent to play collegiate athletics, joining classmates Steve Brown, David Burton, Andrew Canavan, Joanna Carluccio, Michael Wasik, Georiga Mergner, Joseph “Danny” McCarthy, Nicole Kinney, Joseph Salter and Joseph Galioto, creating a total of eleven seniors from the graduating class who signed letters of intent.
Kinney, who played in the N.J. North South All Star Football game on Monday, June 23, will play football at Susquehanna University in the fall of 2014. Kinney, an offensive player on the 1st Team All Super Essex Conference, 3rd Team All Essex County, MSG Varsity All State Honorable Mention wide receiver, and a wide receiver for 2014 N.J. North/South All Star Game, is the final of this year's seniors from JCHS to sign a letter of intent, joining Brown, a three-year letter winner and Harvey Lawshe Defensive Award recipient; Burton, a swimmer and NJ High School States Meet of Champions Qualifier, and Wasik, a second team All Essex County 2013 and third team All Junior 2013 lacrosse player, who will both travel to Franklin and Marshall; Mergner, named to the US Lacrosse All-Academic Lacrosse Team who will play lacrosse for Trinity College; McCarthy who will play lacrosse for Montclair State University; Nicole Kinney, named to the second team in the Liberty Division Super Essex Conference, who will play for Drew University; Salter, football team captain and quarterback for the Chiefs, who heads to Princeton; and Galioto who will play football next fall for Montclair State University.
