Man Arrested On Caldwell University Campus For Package Theft: Police
Caldwell and Essex Fells police assisted with the arrest of a man on the Caldwell University campus, police said.
THE CALDWELLS, NJ — Police from Essex Fells and Caldwell assisted in the arrest of a man on the Caldwell University campus and charged him with the theft of a package, they said Tuesday.
The Essex Fells police said that they headed to Caldwell University on Monday after the Caldwell police asked them to assist with a "suspicious person" on campus.
When the Essex Fells police arrived, they found Jonathan D. Bishop, 29, of Jersey City already seated in the rear of a Caldwell police car, they said.

They said that the Caldwell police had found Bishop to be in possession of a package from Essex Fells.
The Essex Fells police investigated. "The residence in which the package was taken confirmed the package was taken without their knowledge," the Essex Fells police said.

As a result, Bishop was ultimately charged with theft, criminal mischief, and receiving stolen property, the Essex Fells police said.
