Man Assaulted In West Caldwell Strip Mall: Police

The West Caldwell strip mall's tenants include Smashburger, Chipotle and GameStop.

WEST CALDWELL, NJ — The West Caldwell Police Department is investigating an assault that took place in the parking lot of a local strip mall, authorities announced Friday.

According to the West Caldwell police, officers responded to 749 Bloomfield Avenue - the home of tenants such as Smashburger, Chipotle and GameStop - around 7:57 p.m. on Wednesday to find an adult victim suffering from a head injury.

The victim told officers that two men assaulted him and left him in the parking lot, authorities said.

Emergency responders transported the injured man to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston for treatment, police said.
