WEST CALDWELL, NJ — An Essex County man attacked his coworker with a reciprocating saw during an argument earlier this month in West Caldwell, authorities reported Monday.

According to the West Caldwell Police Department, officers responded to Dedrick Place on Jan. 2 after getting a 911 hang-up call from a cell phone. While checking the area, one of the officers spoke with employees of Pella Window and Doors, who told them that an assault just took place.

After conducting an investigation, police determined that the incident began when Francois Noisy, 47, of Irvington, got into an argument with another worker. Noisy allegedly picked up a reciprocating saw and tried to assault his co-worker, but a witness stepped in and was able to stop him, authorities said.
