New Faces on the Force: Officer Keepers

Get to know new West Caldwell Police Department probationary officer.

Three probationary police officers were  last month. The following bio about Brett Albert Keepers was provided by the WCPD:

Officer Brett Albert Keepers grew up in Cedar Grove and graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 2004. After high school, he attended Morris County College and studied in the Fire Science program. 

From an early age, Officer Keepers was very active volunteering in various community groups. He was active in Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He joined the Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad when he was 16, and the Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department when he was 18. Keepers is still an active member in good standing with Engine Company #3.

Officer Keepers joined the West Caldwell Police Department in January 2007 as a police dispatcher, and during his time as a dispatcher he has received several letters of commendation for excellent performance during adverse situations.

He was joined at the swearing-in ceremony by his parents, Kathy and Clint, as well as his his sister and brother-in-law, Casey and Ryan Higgins, and his brothers, Corey, Shane and Darin.
