New Group Home Opened For Disabled Adults In Roseland
Low-income, disabled adults in Essex County now have a new home in Roseland.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Essex County officials recently joined representatives of the ARC of Essex County at a ceremony to commemorate the opening of a new group home for disabled, low-income adults in Roseland.
On Aug. 4, Essex County stakeholders gathered to celebrate the renovation of the residence, which was spearheaded by The ARC of Essex County, with the Essex County Division of Housing and Community Development providing funds from its HOME program to help purchase the property and support the repairs.
Acquired in June of 2015, the home underwent “extensive renovations” prior to move in,” ARC staff wrote. “Renovations included various barrier-free/accessibility improvements, adding front/rear wheelchair ramping, converting the existing master bathroom to a handicapped accessible bathroom, upgrading the lighting, and installing a full fire suppression system.”
