North Caldwell BOE Thanks Jann Skelton For Hard Work, Leadership

North Caldwell Board Of Education: "The entire community has benefitted from her leadership."

CALDWELLS, NJ — North Caldwell Board of Education President Jann Skelton has earned a nod of recognition from her peers for six years of service on the board.

During a recent board meeting, its members honored Skelton for her service to the township. The board wrote about her achievements in an email to the community:

“Through her years of hard work and dedication, Jann made many extraordinary contributions to the North Caldwell School System. As Chairperson of the Community Relations Committee, Jann led efforts and worked diligently to improve the Board of Education's communication and relationship with parents, the North Caldwell community and the press resulting in greater transparency and improvement in all areas of community relations. As a member of the Finance Committee, Jann helped ensure that the district's financial practices were sound and provided for the long-term stability of the District. Throughout her service on the Board, Jann proved herself to be a transformative force who consistently inspired and motivated the Board to not just look ahead to the next year or two, but to consistently engage in long term strategic planning.”

NEW BOARD MEMBERS

During the same meeting, Matthew Atlas was welcomed as a newly elected board member.

Atlas and Mindy Opper, who was re-elected for a second term in November’s General Election, will take their oaths of office on Jan. 2.
