North Caldwell Police Responded To 848 Calls In August: Councilman

NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — The North Caldwell Police Department responded to more than 800 calls for service this August, officials reported at the Oct. 4 Borough Council meeting.

During the meeting, North Caldwell Councilman John Chiaia told attendees that the municipal police department responded to 848 calls in August of 2016, TAP Into West Essex reported.

  • Issued 88 traffic tickets
  • Responded to seven motor vehicle accidents
  • Responded to 13 requests for assistance from residents
  • Responded to eight requests for assistance from outside agencies
  • Accumulated “only 53 overtime hours”
