The North Caldwell Police Department swore in four officers during a promotion ceremony, including its first-ever female sergeant.

NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — The North Caldwell Police Department officially has its first female sergeant in 121 years.
Earlier this week, the North Caldwell Police Department swore in four local officers during a promotion ceremony.
According to the West Essex PBA Local #81, Paul O’Neill and Suzanne DePoe were promoted to sergeants, Tyler Johnson was sworn in as a patrolman and Karl Strodthoff was promoted to captain.

DePoe is the first female to make sergeant in the department’s 121-year history, the PBA stated.
