Morris County Hospital Attorney Files Complaint Against North Caldwell Husband
A 70-year-old woman was found injured at the bottom of stairs in her home, eight days after she fell down them.

MORRISTOWN, NJ – After falling down a flight of stairs that lead to her basement, a 70-year-old North Caldwell woman was left at the bottom of these stairs for eight days. Sonya Nylander was found alive and is now receiving treatment at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, the Daily Record reports.
The case raised some suspicion after the woman's husband, Raymond Nylander, went to a funeral home in Essex County on Sept. 26 to schedule arrangements for a funeral service for his wife.
During the conversation, the funeral director discovered Raymond Nylander's wife, Sonya, was still alive.

The North Caldwell Police Department and Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the case.
"Reportedly, the patient fell down the flight of stairs in her home on Sept. 18, 2016 and was left there at the bottom of the stairs for approximately eight days. During that period of time, the husband would come down the stairs and change her adult diaper, and because of the smell, air fresheners were hung above her," a complaint filed by St. Clare's Hospital attorney Patricia A. Furci said, according to the Daily Record.
