School Security and solutions

Protecting our community has been a quest of mine since 1975, the attached was a picture of me and several other West Caldwell Police Officers in 1980 registering bicycles for child safety. For 25 years myself and many others continued this. Now 2018, long retired but not forgotten. So with the School violence there is something the public should be aware of. For the past several years, there is a law on the NJ books that provide communities, Private and Public schools to hire "Retired Police trained and armed to protect our school children. This has not been used by many schools yet. The fact that we do not do this may be political, or not. The law can be found on this link ( https://legiscan.com/NJ/bill/S... ). I can only stress for the safety of our children. Voice your opinion. Nutley is now having the threat issues.
