Stop and Shop Recalls Kids Cough Medicine: Overdose Warning Issued

The supermarket is recalling Cherry Flavor CareOne Children's Mucus Relief Cough due to incorrectly marked cups.

Stop & Shop issued a voluntary recall for 4 oz. bottles of Cherry Flavor CareOne Children’s Mucus Relief Cough on Friday.

According to a company release, the product is being recalled “because the dose cups have incorrect markings, resulting in potential overdose of consumers.”

“Out of an abundance of caution, all date codes are being pulled, but only product with an expiration date of 3/17 is impacted,” Stop & Shop stated. “This product is located in the Cough & Cold Aisle.”

The affected UPC code is “34152031837,” according to the release.

There have been no reported illnesses related to the recall, but customers who purchased the cough medicine with the expiration date are advised to throw it away, PIX 11 New York reported.
