West Caldwell Nonprofit Employs Disabled People At Coffeehouse

"Our goals are simple... We want to train and employ a significant number of persons with intellectual or developmental delays."

WEST CALDWELL, NJ — A West Caldwell-based nonprofit is empowering people with disabilities at their coffeehouse in Little Falls… and serving up some seriously tasty cups of java while they’re at it.

Ethan and The Bean proudly emblazons their slogan, “Where hope is always brewing,” on their front window at 98 Main Street. Started by West Caldwell resident Pam Donovan, mother of the shop’s namesake, Ethan, the coffeehouse is a living testament to this philosophy.

The nonprofit writes:

“Our goals are simple and from the heart. We want to train and employ a significant number of persons with intellectual or developmental delays, become a treasured asset within the community, and change the way people see those special souls challenged by disabilities. We value and respect all who train with us and all who walk through our doors.”

Ethan and The Bean also tries to make a difference via their sourcing, choosing Java Love Coffee Roasting Co. – a woman-owned, artisan roasting company – to supply their coffee beans.
