West Essex High School Latin Students Receive Awards at WPU

Max Prince earned 2nd place in beginner level, Bennett Chamberlain was honorable mention in intermediate and Amanda Wasserman was 2nd place in advanced level.

The William Paterson World Language Poetry Recitation Contest is an annual tradition at WE. This year, 11 students were chosen by their language teachers to represent West Essex for the 31st annual contest. Our West Essex students joined over 900 language students from New Jersey and New York in the competition. The students competed in beginner, intermediate, advanced and native categories. Their recitation was judged on memorization, poise, pronunciation and intonation. Congratulations to our three Latin students who all received awards. Max Prince earned 2nd place in the beginner level, Bennett Chamberlain was given honorable mention in the intermediate level and Amanda Wasserman was awarded 2nd place in the advanced level.
