West Essex High School Principal Gary Suda has congratulated the seven West Essex High School students who have recently been named 2014 National Merit Scholarship Commended Students.
These students received some of the highest test scores in the country on the PSAT exam. The students are: Sydelle Barreto, Justin Blumas, Michael Caggiano, Michael Colavita, Emily Delia, Stefania Lazar and Eleanor Murphy. These students have met the requirements to enter the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program and could receive special scholarships and be named National Merit Scholarship Finalists later in the school year.
"I am so proud of our commended students," said High School Principal Gary Suda. "For them-to rank in the top 5 percent of 1.5 million students across the country is truly an accomplishment.""The hard work really paid off," Sydelle said.
