76 Arrested, $56K Collected in Morris County Child Support Sweep

Sheriff's office takes part in four day, statewide initiative, ranks number one in money collected.

During a four-day statewide initiative, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office made 76 arrests in the county for child support offenders who owed payments, Sheriff Ed Rochford announced Tuesday.

The statewide Child Support Sweep took place in all 21 counties. In Morris, some $56,000 in back child support was collected, ranking the county number one in the state, Rochford said.

“As the Morris County Sheriff I am very proud that our agency ranked number one in the state in collecting unpaid child support for families,” Rochford said in a statement.

The Sheriff’s Office did not release the names or towns of residence for those arrested.
