Annual St. Paul’s Chili Cookoff Rescheduled for March 14th

The annual Chili cookoff taking place at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, located at 200 Main Street in Chatham Borough, has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 14 at 6:30pm.

Featuring an assortment of chili styles – from vegetarian to classic meat-based chilis, those in attendance will each receive a sample of the chilis being offered, and be asked to rate / judge which chili deserves to be recognized as the best one. Tasters will also be offered a bowl of the chili they most enjoy, as supplies last. Prizes will be awarded in each category.

In typical years, there are usually about 10 different chilis being offered, but St. Paul’s welcomes new chefs to the table. Anyone interested in cooking a batch is asked to reach out to St. Paul’s at office@stpaulscchatham.org with their name, and what type of chili they plan to make. There is no cost to become a chef, other than the cost of making a pot of chili.

Also being offered & served that evening will be different cornbread and brownies, which will also be judged and anointed a winner. Beer, wine and soft drinks will also be served to wash everything down.

Suggested donation to attend is $10 per person or $25 per family. Proceeds benefit the church’s youth group and outreach efforts, a not-for-profit organization. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
